My leather bar tape looks great and wrapped easily. And when I had a question, the company owner called me while he was on the road. Customer service doesn’t get better tan that. A tip: check out the bar wrapping video on YouTube, which is especially helpful for wrapping the twine.
I have been using my distressed honey bison leather tape for a year. With other types of bar tape, they wear out with age. With bison leather, the more I have used it the more character it has developed. I don’t know if “patina” is a word to use with leather, but I like it. It has darkened with age but it is better looking than it was new. I get positive comments about it a lot. I have no idea how long it will last, but I will just say I bought another roll of exactly what I have for the day it finally wears out. After buying new tape, Mr Leh said if it was just shifting on the bar (which it has over the year), I could unwrap it, put some double stick on it and rewrap it. Anytime it looks less than lustrous, I just wipe on the conditioner, and it looks great again. I highly recommend. Just as a disclaimer: I still have my Willie Mays baseball glove from when I was a kid. Leather love.
